Problem Solving assessment in the Adult Literacy and Life Skills Survey (ALL)

The Adult Literacy and Life Skills Survey (ALL) aims at assessing a wide range of skills relevant in everyday life and crucial for social, professional and economic success. Problem-solving skills constitute one of these crucial life skills. LIFE leads the expert group which is in charge of developing an instrument to assess analytical problem-solving skills within the ALL survey. Our work includes contributing towards developing an adequate framework for analytical problem solving, modifying and finalizing the problem-solving test, evaluating issues of cultural bias and adequacy of the instrument, and providing expert support where requested for the multiple phases of the survey.
